Tuesday night was truly a big moment for all those who stand for what the Founding Fathers truly envisioned.
The reason I say this is because it was abundantly clear that the best guy for the job (and my personal candidate of choice) simply dominated the second presidential debate. As a result, he is most definitely, 100 percent assured of a victory come November 6.
Granted, my vote has been decided for a long time, but I really feel like he just had the objectively better performance. Right out of the gate he stuck to his talking points and made it clear that he wants to create jobs in this country rather than ship them overseas. This is vastly superior to his opponent's plan, which -- as my guy deftly pointed out -- would result in a loss of American jobs. I mean, just look at Detroit -- need I say more?
I don't know what got into him, but he just seems like a completely different person than the one we all saw deliver a mostly lackluster speech at the convention. Maybe it just takes standing face-to-face with an opponent so clearly unqualified to be president for him to really get fired up. Whatever the reason is, this newfound energy is clearly motivating the base, as recent polls and studies from reputable sources have indicated.
I will admit that it was frustrating having to sit there and just watch the other guy lie through his teeth the entire time. It was so bad that I honestly did my best to just tune him out and not even listen to what he was saying. A basic understanding of their policy and records indicates that only my candidate knows how to create jobs in this country. The other guy just wants to be in office so that he can fulfill his own evil personal agenda that's going to send America in the wrong direction.
I don't even see how this thing is close!
As soon as the debate finished I flipped to my favorite news source and all of their pundits agreed that my guy really knocked it out of the park, and that's when I was sure it wasn't just my slight personal bias that made me feel like he won.
I want to vote for someone who truly cares about helping the middle class and my candidate explained that he not only wants to cut taxes for me but also keep the rich paying their fair share, which was one of his stronger moments.
When it comes down to it, only one person in the election truly represents what the American dream is all about. Consider that this man's father came here from another country without much to his name and now his son is debating for the opportunity to be the president. That's a story Americans can take pride in.
I do believe that there's something to be said for appearing presidential. While the other guy was combative and kept interrupting, my candidate was remarkably confident the entire time. I guess that's what happens when the truth is on your side. Throughout the entire debate he leaned on his experience and policy expertise to deliver the best answer on every topic and it was really entertaining to watch him successfully corner his opponent based on past record. The exchange about energy was a great example of this.
As a country we're facing a very stark choice come this November. One candidate wants to lower taxes on the middle class, create jobs and restore America to greatness. The other guy has absolutely no business even running for president.
Don't you agree?
