Circumventing the obvious intelligence level jokes that could be applied to the former governor of Alaska and her inability to get out of jury duty or get a "jury extension" until her schedule was a bit more flexible (or another leg of the "One Nation" bus tour complete), it should be noted that 1) she might not be selected from the pool of prospective jurors and 2) one or both legal teams could not afford the distraction of Sarah Palin being in the jury.
